Heaven Bent

Heaven Bent

Can you imagine never leaving church, but setting up a corner cot so you could constantly praise and pray?

When Paul told the church in Thessalonica to pray continually, he didn’t mean for you to set up camp like "She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying."
- Luke 2:37

Anna did. But his command does suggest you need to turn around your thought life from worry to prayer, from fantasizing to thanksgiving, from analyzing to meditation on His Word – with the same determination Anna had. Her chief priority was to worship, to become more intimate with God. Prayer was Anna’s job…and a bi-product of her intimacy with the Lord. She was rewarded when she saw Mary and Joseph entering the temple with their baby, the One she had been praying for.

As you pray, make seeking God Himself in praise your first priority, knowing He is faithful to sanctify you and draw you ever closer to Him. Then pray determinedly for the president (sic) and our nation – anticipating God’s answers.
